Paul McGrath was the big guest on Second Captains' show last night and during a great interview, the Irish legend told a tale about another Irish legend – Robbie Keane.
McGrath talks about coming up against the current Irish captain when Keane was just 17, who he describes as a 'phenomenal player,' even at that tender age. McGrath humourously regales his experience of trying to stop Keane's influence, bad knees and all:
I was needing a sit down, and I just said to him 'Look. I'm Irish ... You know who I am like..
And – disregard. He had disregard for me. The next time he came running again; twist, turn, twist, turn, twist, turn. He got man of the match but a 17-year-old cheeky git.
Well worth a watch. You can see the full interview on the RTE Player here.
