On Saturday The Daily Mail had quotes from an unnamed source within Aston Villa who told them that the atmosphere at the club during Roy Keane's time as assistant manager was "horrible" and that the Corkman has "pissed off" several big names at the club.

The Irish Examiner have some comments from Paul Lambert where the Villa manager denies these claims. The Scot says that he has spoken to Keane recently and that he has a full schedule with commitments to Ireland and that this is the reason for his departure from the midlands club.

I find it bizarre. The guy was great for me, he was great for everybody at the club. I have nothing but thanks for Roy for coming in, there weren’t even any bad words on anything. That is the disappointing thing. The headline of “Poisonous” is shocking. To label him like that is shocking.

Those "big names" that Keane reportedly fell out with - Gabby Agbonlahor, Charles N'Zogbia and Fabian Delph.
