Now the Euros are motoring.
The first couple of days of the tournament were a little bit disappointing overall, even if there were some moments of quality.
That all changed last night in the Netherlands vs Ukraine game, with five second half goals turning it into an instant classic. That fixture had everything.
We were very interested to see how the Scots would fare during their return to tournament football this afternoon, but after a bright start, things got rather difficult against the Czech Republic.
Patrik Schick opened the scoring in Glasgow just before the interval with this beautiful header.

The 25-year old was at it again just after the break, scoring the goal of the tournament so far.
He produced a stunning chip to score from just inside the Scottish half, although serious questions have be asked about why goalkeeper David Marshall was standing ten metres away from the halfway.
Still, you can take nothing away from the finish.

It gets better every time you watch it, especially from that angle behind the goal.

Schick is one of the most promising up and coming forwards in European football, moving from Roma to Bayer Levekusen for a fee of around €25million last summer.
This brace takes his international record to 13 goals in 27 appearance for the Czechs.
