Patrice Evra's Instagram game has well and truly stepped up as of late, and he has had us in stitches with some of the videos he has posted in recent weeks, but we did not envisage him paying tribute to his former arch nemesis like he did on Thursday night.

Luis Suarez was awarded the European golden shoe for his incredible season with Barcelona last season, and Evra saluted the former Liverpool star for his achievements, calling Suarez the best #9 in the world.

We don't need to tell you about the history between Evra and Suarez, but it appears that all has been forgiven and bygones will be allowed to be bygones.

Written in Spanish (presumably for Suarez as opposed to Evra's thousands of fans in England, France, and Italy), Evra was full of praise for the Uruguayan striker:

In my Instagram there is only love and never hate!!! Luis, you're a great player, the best number 9. Congratulations Luis.

If Instagram had any sense they would use this as a marketing tool. The number one social media platform for forgiveness.

In all seriousness, it was a nice, if surprising, gesture from Evra. He had no obligation to congratulate Suarez but clearly wanted to send some positivity into the world.

Speaking of sending out good vibes, if you haven't had a look at Evra's Instagram lately, you really should.
