Pat Fenlon was back in familiar surroundings today.

He landed at Dalymount Park to publicise the tribute match for his protege, current Bohs manager, and one of the League of Ireland's finest ever players, Owen Heary, which takes place this Sunday.

Heary was controversially denied a testimonial by the FAI on the grounds that he was an amateur player but Bohs, and his former club Shelbourne, have pressed ahead with this idea for a tribute match. The Shels side that made serious inroads in Europe in 2004 will take on the Bohs double winning side of 2008, two sides in which Heary was hugely influential figure.

Fenlon spoke briefly of his feelings on leaving Hibs, while Heary reckons that Fenlon will be back in work before long.

Both Heary and Fenlon reckon the standard of the League of Ireland has dipped in recent seasons. Fenlon began by talkin about the gap in quality he believes exists between the Scottish League (minus Celtic) and the League of Ireland, a gap which had almost been closed in the middle of the last decade.
