There might have been no fans there, but to the Leeds fans watching, it still seemed like a carnival atmosphere at Elland Road today. A 3-0 win over 4th place Fulham put Leeds three points clear at the top of the Championship, and more importantly, eight points clear of third place Brentford with just seven games remaining. It's getting more and more likely that Leeds will be back in the Premier League next season after a 17 year absence.

With a 2-0 lead with twenty minutes remaining, it wouldn't be in the nature of Leeds fans to relax, but a bit of absolute magic from Pablo Hernandez set up Jack Harrison for their third goal and even Leeds fans started to believe then.

Hernandez has become a cult hero at Elland Road since arriving in 2017 and the way Leeds fans reacted to his outstanding pass show just what he means to them. It will be interesting to see if 35 year old Hernandez will remain with Leeds in the Premier League if they do go up.

Hernandez was actually brought on at half time by Marco Bielsa today, and with the game won, was taken off again with five minutes to go, something the Leeds fans loved.
