The recent popularity of "Tunnel Cam" in the Premier League, with clubs like Leicester City, Middlesbrough, and Southampton following the lead of Manchester City in giving the fans a look into what goes on in the tunnel on a match-day, is one of the better features of major clubs' presence on social media.
Particularly for closely-contested games against big sides, we can often see some interesting moments take place in these videos that go up in the aftermath of the result, but seemingly some of these moments don't always go down well with the other team.
The first draft of this week's 'Tunnel Cam' went live this morning, and soon after we saw headlines like "Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain" reacts angrily after Man City substitution", as The Ox was withdrawn just 12 minutes after being introduced as a sub, but if you were to watch the video as it lives on YouTube now, you would see no such incident.
But it was there, as these screenshots prove:
It's interesting that after publishing the video with the above footage included, they have since removed it, presumably on the request of Arsenal as manager Arsene Wenger today confirmed that the player was substituted because of a muscle injury. This means that Oxlade-Chamberlain's frustrations were at the unfortunate timing of his injury, rather than at the substitution itself, but then why was it taken out?
Instead, 'Tunnel Cam' now focuses on Alexis Sanchez, like the rest of us, wondering why the Man City players chose to wear 'Gundogan 8' on the front of their jerseys as a tribute to their injured teammate... Who was also seen walking unassisted in the clip.
