Oxford beat Peterborough 2-1 in League One on Saturday.
Their winner came via a late penalty from Chris Maguire. Oxford also had some Good Samaritan defending by Peterborough to than for the goal.
Maguire's celebration of the goal was quite provocative. After the ball hit the back of the net, he stood on the goal line pointing to his right while clearly looking at Peterborough keeper Ben Alnwick.
Speak to the Oxford Mail, Maguire explained his reason for the celebration. It was due to Alnwick's attempt to unnerve him as he waited to take the penalty.
I am confident and there was only one thing that was going to happen.
There was no point the keeper diving, the ball had hit the net by the time he moved.
He was trying to put me off and he's entitled to do that, but it always comes back to bite you.
If you want to try and mug me off then I'll just put it in the back of the net. That was what the celebration was about.
Forward to around 1:20 for the penalty.
