Caleb Folan only made seven appearances for the Republic of Ireland during 2008 and 2009, but he still won our affection with running more channels than was previously thought possible, and by winning flick-ons with such ferocity that defenders quickly decided to not even bother competing.
The highlight of his Ireland career will be remembered as a vital flick-on in the build up to Robbie Keane's equaliser against Italy in Bari, but here are some more of his good moments in an Ireland jersey:
He had the leap of an NBA All-Star.
In fact, against Poland once he actually took flight by mistake.
The one time he didn't win a header...
He was the ultimate route-one weapon.
And he played the game with style and grace.
The embodiment of a no-nonsense number nine.
Praying for his opposing centre-backs.
Sean St.Ledger was delighted he didn't have to face him.
He had the 1000 yard stare down.
He'd head anything, even his teammates.
When he wasn't on the pitch, he was thinking about his next flick-on.
He was a calming influence from the bench...
..Because the ball stuck to him like glue.
And who could forget that iconic goatee?
Now playing his club football in Myanmar, it's a shame that we can't see any more of his sensational flick-ons. Irish goal-kicks just haven't been the same since 2009.
