Several media outlets, including the Daily Mail and Sky Sports News, are reporting that Man City are closing in on the signing of Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia.
The centre-back has been linked with a move to Man Utd on numerous occasions throughout the summer.
A source told Sky Sports that City do not want meet the €50 million figure of his buy-out clause and instead will include Eliaquim Mangala on loan to pay the balance of the deal.
It is in progress, I think it is getting closer but not yet finished. City are not open to paying his 50m euros buy-out clause but are including Mangala on loan. Valencia will not sell for less than his buy-out clause unless they get Mangala. The player has an agreement with City and has refused to play or train at Valencia.
According to both the Daily Mail and Guillem Balague, the Premier League side are set to pay €40 million for the 27-year-old defender.
Tomorrow all confirmed: Otamendi to City for €40m and Mangala on loan. Real Madrid would have paid €50m buy out clause if Ramos had gone

Otamendi joined Valencia last summer from Porto, where he had formed a solid partnership with Mangala.
