It's been a busy week since the January transfer window opened, with Chelsea already making a marquee signing in Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic.

A more pressing position for Maurizio Sarri to fill however, is at the business end of the pitch, with Alvaro Morata failing to kick on in his second season at Stamford Bridge.

One man who has been touted as solving Chelsea's striker woes is PSG forward Edinson Cavani, with the Daily Express reporting that the Blues are willing to part with £50 million to secure the signature of the Uruguayan, a rather heady fee for a 31-year-old.

Sarri has also been reported as having an interest in Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella, and with the exit of Cesc Fabregas the club are willing to pay £45 million to sign the Italian international.

PL rivals Liverpool are more concerned with outgoings at the minute, with Divock Origi reportedly a £15 million target for Fulham. Origi has found opportunities hard to come by, despite being the match winner in his side's last gasp 1-0 win over Everton in December. Should the Belgian leave the club, there will only be two senior strikers at the club in Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge following the sale of Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth for £19 million.

In the SPL Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe has officially joined Rangers on loan, while Celtic are closing in on the signature of PSG youngster and son of George Weah, Timothy, also on loan.

Weah will become the second signing of the January window for Brendan Rodgers, who has already signed winger Oliver Burke on loan form West Brom.
