Last year Arsenal and Germany star Mesut Ozil famously used his 2014 World Cup winners bonus to pay for 23 Brazilian children to have life-saving surgeries.
Ozil received a Laureus award for the gesture and a year later the German has continued his charity work in the country by paying for more sick children to have operations.
The Mezut Ozil Foundation will fund surgeries for 11 kids currently in hospital in Coroata in the north east of the country. They will take place in October and November.
Ozil said on the German Football Association website:
Even one year after we won the World Cup, I want to continue to leave a positive mark in Brazil by financing eleven more children’s operations
For me it’s very important that I carry on providing help for the children of Brazil.
A great gesture from Arsenal's record signing.
