The long list of players who have made the move to England from the League of Ireland is set to grow by one, as one of the best talents in the league is heading for League One.
St.Patrick's Athletic are expected to confirm the departure of talented attacker Chris Forrester to Peterborough United on Saturday, after the Irish Times confirmed he missed Friday night's loss to 10 man Derry City because he was in England negotiating personal teams. An agreement between Pats and Peterborough is already believed to be in place.
St Patrick’s Athletic expect to confirm on Saturday that Chris Forrester has joined Peterborough United after his team-mates’ Europa League qualification hopes suffered another blow against 10-man Derry at Richmond Park last night.
Midfielder Forrester was in England last night negotiating terms after the clubs yesterday agreed in principle to his transfer to the English League One side for an undisclosed fee.
St.Patrick's Athletic fans have been taking to social media to say their goodbyes as word of the agreement got out around the club prior to any confirmation.
Forrester, who has a knack for the spectacular, will be playing under Peterborough manager Dave Robertson after scoring 37 goals in 110 games for Pats since making the move from Bohemians in 2012.
At 22 years of age, there is a lot of room for development and here's hoping he will enjoy a successful time in England.
He leaves behind him a seriously impressive highlight reel, featuring goals like this:

Best of luck to him, and our commiserations to Pats fans.
