The early autumn of 1995 is remembered for many things, the tropical weather that we were still basking in, the Clare hurlers finally getting to see what Croke Park looked like, and Alan Hansen informing viewers that winning anything at all with kids was an impossibility.
However, most of all, it is remembered for Tony Yeboah. Leeds' Ghanaian recruit scored an absurdly spectacular collection of goals throughout the 1995/96 season. But none were better than his eye-popping volley against Liverpool on the first Monday night game of the season.
Des Lynam boldly claimed that this was the best selection of goals ever to compete for the coveted title of Goal of the Month. So, with that here is the Goal of Month competition August 1995 (not 96)
