While we were desperately trying to pass those few hours in the morning when there are no World Cup matches on, we asked our followers on Twitter to name their favourite pundit of the tournament so far. God knows, there are enough of them.
We may be only a few days into it but the cream is already starting to rise to the top. On RTÉ, Damien Duff has shone, along with the fresh injection of talent, such as Keith Andrews and Richard Dunne. Across the water, Slaven Bilic is leading the way surely, at least for entertainment value, going by his first couple of nights on ITV; although it's fair to say Patrice Evra wasn't near the top of anyone's rankings, given his weird Eniola Aluko applause on Sunday.
However, there was one analyst who completely dominated our Twitter replies and we haven't even got to see him in studio. That man is Brian Kerr. His informed, insightful and downright delightful co-commentary has been a blessing for many a year now but he seems to pulling in more fans by the day.
Brian Kerr all day. De keepers after boxing it away His knowledge of the game is outstanding. A national Treasure & of course true blue Dub

Brian Kerr and his uncompromising accent.
Needs to be on the next Brazil game, as I have to hear him say "Gabriel Jee-yay-sus"

Not a pundit but Brian Kerr! "He's after murdering his own team"

"There's yer man there, sure he's only mad for yer wan and she's havin' nun of it. Great block there from the young wan"

Brian Kerr continuing the good form he shows week in, week out for @TodayFM on Saturdays. Sublime.

They just don't make commentators like Kerr. He seems to be the only one who does any bloody research bar George Hamilton obviously.

My favourite Kerr-ism "That lad is always looking for a fight. If he was on his own in a phone box he'd phone the operator to have a row" #Legend

Within five minutes of watching Kerr commentate on Sweden v South Korea today it's easy to see why he's so popular. His knowledge is incredible and it's clear he has done his research, garnishing us with the information that he'd watched Seb Larsson get 'a few kicks' in a recent friendly against Peru, not to mention his analysis of the stand-out performers for South Korea from their game against Bolivia in the build-up to the tournament.
And of course, there were plenty of Kerrisms too:
'He was also named best dressed man in Sweden. Don't know if that's relevant or not but there you go.' You can never tire of listening to Brian Kerr.
