A horrid season for Manchester United has ended in predictable fashion, falling to an embarrassing 2-0 defeat at home to relegated Cardiff City. It was a terrible performance, one that encapsulated their whole season within the 90 minutes.
A lack of quality, a lack of a plan, and a lack of overall effort. Paul Pogba was up to his usual tricks off the ball, putting in a pathetic effort as Cardiff doubled their lead in the second half.
United will finish the season in sixth place, having won just two of their last 12 matches in all competitions.
Speaking after today's loss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer cut a resigned figure. He said it would be a long summer ahead for Manchester United, with some players having to ask major questions of themselves.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says it was 'embarrassing' to walk off the pitch to the fans applauding the team after their disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Cardiff in the Premier League.

When our season starts we have just got to take that challenge head on. We know what we have to work on, the player have got the message quite clearly as well. The summer is going to be big for me, the club and the players...
We are sixth and that's not where Manchester United want to be. It's about getting a settled team, a settled system, getting players fit. There's loads and loads of different factors, it's not just new players.
We've got good players here who had a difficult season. There's different reasons that players here haven't had good seasons, some have been their fault, others have been the club's fault, might be our fault.
I think everyone will look at themselves in the mirror and say 'I can do better'...
United were clapped off by many fans today despite the shocking result, something their manager found embarrassing.
We're not a team or a club that should end up sixth. That's where we are at the moment, we have to work extremely hard.
The fans supported us today. It's near embarrassing when you get clapped off the pitch with the support we have.
It is going to be a massive summer ahead at Old Trafford, with major changes needed at every level of the club. If they fail to take the correct course of action, United fans may have to get used to seasons such as this one.
