John Sheridan was sacked as Notts County manager on Monday following a run of nine consecutive defeats for the League Two club. The former Ireland international took charge of the club in May of last year. He has been temporarily replaced by former Leeds and Man Utd player Alan Smith.

Following yesterday's 4-0 loss to Cambridge United, Notts County assistant manager Mark Crossley said the four goals conceded were some of the worse he's seen in his time in football.

I’ve never seen four worse goals in my entire 30 years of professional football. We keep saying the same things – you can’t legislate for ridiculous errors.

Cambridge's first goal will have looked familiar to Notts County fans. As pointed out by @gavvallance on Twitter, the club has conceded very similar ones to Cambridge over the past 13 months.

In the 19th minute of Monday's game, Luke Berry charged down keeper Adam Collin's clearance. It resulted in Cambridge taking the lead. That goal was remarkably comparable to one which Berry scored against County in April of his year when he charged down a clearance from Scott Loach.

In November 2015, then Notts County keeper Roy Carroll - the former Man Utd player - struck a clearance into Ben Williamson of Cambridge. The ball looped over his head before crossing the line.

These are the three goals.
