To some people, this Twitter spiel about one man's plight with Football Manager to sounds ridiculous but to many of us it makes complete and utter sense. As anyone who has played the game can attest, sometimes it can get the better of you.
The struggle I go through every year to stop myself from buying @FootballManager and completely ruining my life is very real.

As a kid I used to write down full-on tactical analysis of all my FM matches. Would plan transfer market shortlists weeks in advance.

And that would absolutely happen again if I bought FM again. Even at the age of 23.

It's completely for my own good that I don't buy FM. So if you could all stop talking about how AMAZING it is, that'd be great.

This reminded of a period from my childhood, when I used to play LMA Manager on the Playstation every evening after school. I had a major problem in that we only had one television so getting control of it meant that I had to enter in serious negotiations with the little sister.
After hours of intense meetings I proposed that she become the club's secretary. In her mind she was responsible for a daily club newsletter, record keeping of players who performed well against us and creating a list of transfer targets. In reality I had tricked her into leaving me and the television alone, while at the same time putting her newly learned ability to write to good use.
Does that make me a bad person?
