No reason was given for the move but with Chiles being widely derided for his World Cup efforts, and with his wage at a reported £5m, it was likely his contract wasn't going to be renewed in the summer. Especially as ITV have lost the rights to the Champions League, Europa League and the FA Cup.
Pougatch's first outing will be for Chelsea's Champions League clash with PSG next month. He has previously worked on the African Cup of Nations and IPL cricket for the station.
Just a fortnight ago, it was reported that Andy Townsend would not have his contract renewed by the broadcaster either.
