Wesley Hoolahan will play his last game at Carrow Road this Saturday with the Canaries taking on Leeds United. The club have released an interview with Hoolahan where the 35-year-old talks about his 10 years at the club, his relationship with the fans as well as his international success.
The midfield maestro is certainly not as comfortable in front of the camera as he is on the ball, as evidenced by this amusing clip where he is asked to sum up his career at Norwich in three words:
But the comments underneath Hoolahan's videos go a long way to articulating the impact the Dubliner had during his 10 year stint at the club:
Rob Grimwood commended Hoolahan's service and calling him the best player he'd ever seen in a Norwich shirt:
Been watching Norwich since the 90’s... yea we’ve had Sutton, Bellamy, Eadie, Gossy and more who have been brilliant in that time. But for me- Wes is the best player I’ve seen in a Norwich shirt. World class at times. Thanks Wessi, you deserve a better send off really but the club clearly doesnt value what service you’ve given us over these 10 years. #IrishMessi
Of course there was the inevitable negative take on Wes' exit, but the 54 replies to Sam Plummer's needless jibe reiterated Hoolahan's worth to the club.
The affection displayed for Hoolahan by the Norwich supporters is heart warming to see that wherever Wessi ends up, he will always be remembered fondly by the Carrow Road faithful.
