Norwegian 8th division club Ørn Kristiania based in the town of Horten near Oslo, made an audacious bid to sign David Beckham on Wednesday through a letter they sent to Beckham's agent, Jeff Frasco.
Beckham instead opted to sign for Paris St. Germain despite Ørn Kristiania's generous offer of a club sports bag, a club button which could adorn Beckham's numerous designer suits, the number 7 shirt and a discounted club members fee of only NOK 2,500 (€336.70).
Beckham probably got a more favourable offer from PSG but they could not offer Beckham the number 7 shirt, he had to settle for number 32. Just think, some poor kid is now walking around Horten right now, bagless and buttonless. After all, I'm sure Beckham would have offered to donate his compensation had he signed for the club.
That David Beckham to Sligo Rovers rumour doesn't seem so ridiculous after all.
