Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has reportedly been arrested after an altercation with a taxi driver in his native Denmark.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening, with the driver left seriously injured.

Speaking to Danish newspaper BT, Communication Manager of the company involved, Rasmus Krochin, had this to say:

I can confirm that there has been a serious assault on one of our drivers tonight. The driver is currently on the operating table with a broken jaw. Our director was informed about this morning.

The assault has been reported to the police and we can confirm that the assailant is Nicklas Bendtner.

The former-Arsenal man has some previous form for incidents with taxis. In 2014 he unbuttoned his trousers and rubbed himself against a taxi, also labeling the driver as a "little whore".

Bendtner is currently plying his trade at Norwegian club Rosenberg, who eliminated Cork City from the Champions League qualifiers earlier this summer. He also found the net in Denmark's 5-1 drubbing of the Republic of Ireland last year.
