Perth Glory went into their final game of the A-League season against Melbourne City requiring a victory by four goals.
If they had done so, they would have moved ahead of their opponents in the A-League table and secured home game for the first round of the playoffs.
Perth did indeed win the game but it was not by the four they required, rather it was just the minimum. The game finished 5-4 with seven of those goals coming in the second half. Dubliner Andy Keogh scored one of them for Perth.
Late in the game, with Perth leading 5-3, goalkeeper Liam Reddy intercepted a pass on the edge of his box. Rather than simply clear the ball, Reddy - who looked like he was being controlled by a 14-year-old playing FIFA - assumed the role of a deep-lying playmaker. He would quickly concede possession.
Despite having put his side in a vulnerable situation, Reddy was rather casual in returning to his post. It left substitute Nick Fitzgerald with the easy task of scoring into an open net.
