Neymar Jr has long since renamed himself Neymar Ltd, and the Brazilian continues to treat the French league as if it's a minor inconvenience in his week. The latest example of this came last night, as the Brazilian dazzled in an 8-0 win over Dijon, a side unable to cut the mustard. (Have we not fired you yet? -Ed).
He scored four goals and assisted a further two, the third goal this fine solo effort.
Toward the end of the game, PSG won a penalty, with Neymar once again electing to take it. You may remember at the beginning of the season, Neymar grabbed the ball from Edison Cavani in a wrangle over who would take a penalty, only for Cavani to refuse, which hinted at a divide in the dressing room. If there is one, Unai Emery is doing little to solve it, shirking the incident afterward by telling the players to sort it out among themselves.
With that still in the memory of the crowd at the Parc des Princes, last night's penalty once again caused controversy. Cavani is one goal away from becoming the club's record scorer, but in spite of that and the fact that Neymar already had his hat-trick, he was determined to take it.
He was jeered by the crowd as a result, with teammate Thomas Meunier heavily critical of the fans for their reaction to Neymar.
I understand the disappointment but I find this very disgraceful from the fans.
If you want to boo him, why do you clap and cheer him when he goes past four defenders to score?
Cavani was supportive of Neymar afterward on social media, but Neymar is said to be upset at his treatment by PSG fans.
All is not well in paradise.
