This week has proved that Neymar Jr. is really Neymar Ltd, as the Brazilian has swapped Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain and a bucket load of cash. From a competitive point of view, Neymar is taking a step down, but will be compensated with a massive increase in wealth, and ostensibly a better shot at the Ballon D'Or.
In many ways, it's unsurprising. Neymar's is one of the most commercialised careers ever see in football, and is always willing to interrupt the flow of a game in order to fulfill brand requests.
For example, there was a spell last season in which he was consistently filmed changing his Nike boots during games, which was widely speculated to be a marketing ploy.
Very few aspects of his career are not branded, and now, even his initiation song at PSG is tinged with commercialism.
He sang* Ousadia e Alegria, by the Brazilian artist Thiaguinho, which also just happens to be the name of a collection of boots Neymar endorses for Nike.
*mutters every sixth word and claps along enthusiastically
