A report from Spanish news outlet El Pais has claimed that the relationship between PSG stars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar is fraught with tension, and that that the Brazil star constantly bullies the French international.
The report which was penned by Spanish journalist Diego Torres claims that Neymar christened Mbappe 'Donatello' because of the winger's percieved likeness to Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, despite the 19-year-old telling him that he did not like the nickname.
The article goes onto say that Mbappe's family are critical of how his son was treated in the PSG locker room and also how Neymar lives his life.
Torres writes Neymar as well as compatriot Dani Alves refused to pass to Mbappe during a match in February. Mbappe confronted Neymar after the game, asking why they would not pass to him, and the pair had to be separating after tempers rose in the locker room. Torres claims they have barely spoken since this incident.
The report also states that Neymar and Alves believe that Mbappe relies too heavily on his speed, after the forward scored twice against Argentina Alves posted an image of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toy with a caption that read: "Donatello is fast, eh?!" According to Torres, Alves posted the image under the influence of Neymar.
El Pais report that a source close to PSG has said that the club have been trying for convince the two players to make a public gesture of support for each other and that Mbappe winning the World Cup would be the 'worst scenario possible' for the club. The source also stated that they hope that Mbappe does not show that he is better than Neymar.
