The worldwide adventures of Cillian Sheridan took another exciting turn today after the Cavanman made a much-lauded 30 minute cameo for his new club, Wellington Phoenix.
The New Zealand based A-League side beat Western Sydney Wanderers in dramatic fashion, winning 3-2 after two late goals from Roy Krishna. Sheridan came on with both sides level at 1-1 and quickly made an impact. His busy performance was topped off with a perfectly weighted assist for Krishna, as he put the Pheonix 2-1 up in the 82nd minute. While WSW equalised two minutes later, Krishna would pop up again to score the winner, with just one minute of normal time left. This time Sheridan got the assist to the assist, with a nice backheel.
Krisha's winner sent the traveling fans into raptures but it was their manager, Mark Rudan, who got most excited. He could be heard over the TV commentary giving it large, before receiving a yellow card for the manner of his celebration but his cemented his place as our new favourite random manager.

Former Premier League midfielder Robbie Slater continuously referred to Sheridan as "Shepherd" on co-commentary for some reason, showing flagrant disrespect to such an impactful debut, though it didn't seem to have bothered Cillian.
Mr. Slattery knows. Don’t be the sheep, be the Shepherd https://t.co/s3NFWM4Hss

In the NZ Hearld match report, they said "Wellington's new Irish striker Cillian Sheridan made himself an instant hero, arriving impressively off the bench as a second-half substitute." Needless to say, Phoenix fans were delighted and those watching were particular taken by our Lord and Saviour, Sheridan.
The Footballing Gods have sent their only son and messiah @CillianSheridan to deliver the @WgtnPhoenixFC to the promised land.

The @WgtnPhoenixFC just continue to impress. Last season they'd sit back at 1-1 and definitely at 2-2. Not now. Cillian Sheridan very impressive. Roy Krishna as hot as any striker in the A-League. Louis Fenton having his best season. Kurto so solid in goal. Scenes. #WSWvWEL

Cillian Sheridan has provided so many classy touches during his 30 minute cameo. Might be hard for Nathan Burns to get back into the team now.
