Several media outlets are reporting that Sean O'Driscoll is set to be named as Brendan Rodgers' new number two.
The role has been vacant since Colin Pascoe left the club earlier this month.
O'Driscoll, capped three times by Ireland, is currently the head coach of the England U19s. He previously managed Bournemouth, Doncaster, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City.
Brendan Rodgers is a long-term admirer of O'Driscoll having previously referred to him as "one of the best coaches I have ever come across".
You may remember O'Driscoll from this interview with the BBC while he was manager of Bristol City. Following a loss to Brentford in October of 2013, he did not take kindly to a reporter's question.

Or, alternatively, you may know him from his time at Doncaster where his team played some great possession football.
