Three weeks after Garry Monk resigned as Leeds manager, the club is set to appoint his successor.
According to Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post, former APOEL FC boss Thomas Christiansen will be announced as the new manager at Elland Road within the next 48 hours.
New Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani is said to have met Christiansen last this week. The Danish-born 44-year-old is currently negotiating personal terms with the club.
Last season, Christiansen guided the Cypriot champions to the last-16 of the Europa League where they lost to Anderlecht.
After joining APOEL from AEK Larnaca last summer on a one-year deal, Christiansen took his new side to their fifth consecutive title. However, the club decided not to renew his contract.
Christiansen departed APOEL on the same day that Garry Monk left Leeds. That came a day after APOEL lost the Cypriot Cup final to Apollon Limassol.
Christiansen enjoyed a lengthy playing career which started at Barcelona and took in, among others, Real Oviedo, Villareal and Hannover 96.
Though he was born in Denmark, Christiansen played international football for Spain, winning two caps.
