Can we just phone it in for this piece-of-shit year?
Amongst many, many other global atrocities, we've bid our farewells to cultural icons such as David Bowie and Prince, Leonard Cohen and Muhammad Ali, Natalie Cole and Alan Rickman. Harambe.
Take our eyes, 2016, why don't you? But please don't take the one single constant we have left in a world blighted by uncertainty - our beloved Netherlands home jersey.
For decades the Oranje's iconic strip has been a safe haven for football kit enthusiasts, but according to images circulating on the interweb this morning, even that may be no more. Get a load of this piece of muck, which people are describing as Holland's new home jersey:

Sweet mother of all that's good and pure. 'Miss'.
The kit is rumoured to be inspired by Vincent van Gogh - or more specifically, the piece of ear he chopped off in 1888. And appalled football fans have responded accordingly, with one labelling the jersey similar to a topless Austin Powers.

However, it is worth pointing out that the Netherlands only released their current home kit back in March; it's possible that the above abomination, which has yet to be confirmed by the Dutch or Nike themselves, is just a concept kit. Perhaps, too, it was leaked intentionally to gauge fan reaction ahead of a new release next year.
If so, there's every chance the designers will simply go back to the drawing board and try to come back with something that doesn't resemble a fucking Digestive biscuit.
