Liverpool's hopes of winning the Premier League were all but ended yesterday, with their 2-2 draw at West Ham likely to act as the final nail in coffin of their bid to overtake Arsenal and Manchester City.
It has been a disastrous few weeks for the Merseyside club, who at one stage looked like real contenders to lift the trophy. Of course, they had an added incentive to do so ahead of Jurgen Klopp's departure at the end of the season.
The German has become a legendary figure at Anfield, one who has always commanded the utmost respect from both the fans and the players.
That is why his interaction with Mohamed Salah during yesterday's game came as such a shock.
The two would become involved in a spat on the touchline as the Egyptian waited to come on during the second half of the match. It was unclear what was the cause of the issue, with Klopp attempting to sidestep questions about the bust-up during his post-match interview.
Mohamed Salah would go on to add further speculation around the incident by saying 'if I speak today, there will be fire' to journalists after the game.

New footage hints at origin of spat between Jurgen Klopp & Mo Salah
Considering the relationship between Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah during their seven seasons together at Liverpool, this incident came as quite a shock.
It certainly seems as though the struggles of both the team and Salah on an individual level in recent times might have played a part, with the forward left out of the starting line-up for the visit to the London Stadium.
Perhaps he was frustrated at being handed a place on the bench, with new footage of the moments before their spat perhaps hinting at the origin of the scrap.
In the clip, Klopp can be seen attempting to embrace Salah as he was making his way to the sideline to come on. The player seemed to ignore him at first, before eventually committing to a half-baked high five.
Klopp took exception to this, and when he had a few words with his player, things seemed to boil over.

This is certainly a sour end to Liverpool's season, as well as the Jurgen Klopp era at the club. As for Salah, there is every chance that he will move on this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.
Considering the promise of their campaign prior to their recent struggles, it seems like a sad conclusion to what has been a remarkably joyous period both on and off the pitch under their current manager.
