Borussia Dortmund are a team whose iconic yellow and black result in an aesthetically pleasing new jersey every season, and Puma have revealed the jersey that will be debuted next week and worn in the DFB Pokal final against Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of this month.
In a joint campaign staged a few days before the jersey’s launch, BVB and PUMA called on fans worldwide to send their individual messages of motivation to the team. At the premiere of the new kit on the last Bundesliga matchday of the current season against Werder Bremen, the players will wear the fan message they liked best as personal motivation. At the cup final in Berlin – the most important last game of the season – the chosen fan messages will also be printed in the new kits and thus accompany the players on the field.
So what does it look like?
Not bad, right?
It's an improvement on the current jersey which features vertical stripes, in our book, but it seems that not everyone is impressed.
Aside from the usual fans moaning for whatever reason, it seems that Borussia Dortmund are less than impressed as they feel the design is too similar to their jersey from this season. The club's often hilarious English speaking twitter account posted the following shortly after the reveal.
First you try to take 'Borussia' off us, and now this! But the way I wear my hat? No, no. @BVB can’t take that away from me. pic.twitter.com/DPMZX29zh2

Really?
That's a reach, as Gladbach were not the first team to use horizontal stripes like that.
Borussia Monchengladbach's new jersey has also been unveiled, for what it's worth, and their final jersey as part of their sponsorship with Kappa is decent, if a little dull.
