Everton and Wales great Neville Southall turns 55 today. A former Footballer of the Year (the only goalkeeper so honoured), a renowned goalkeeping coach and a Welsh nationalist, here we look at the life and times of Neville Southall.
Giving out to Michael Owen
BBC 2 Sunday morning classic here, Michael Owen's Soccer Skills, where Owen taught a bunch how to play football (ironically paying great attention to stretching). Southall does not enjoy how much Owen enjoys scoring on the '13 year old striker.' Some spikiness here

Proud Welshman
Neville took a dim view of the idea of Ryan Giggs, Gareth Bale or any other Welshman playing football for Team GB in the Olympics. Nev told the Beeb that "the whole point of going to the Olympics is that special moment when your flag goes up. What flag are they going to put up if they win it? The Union Jack? It's not my flag. My flag's a dragon."
