Neil Lennon gave a heated and passionate defence of his reaction to a crazy end to Hibernian's 0-0 draw with Morton in the Scottish Championship on Wednesday night.
The Hibs boss got into an altercation with Morton manager Jim Duffy, with one reporter telling Lennon after the game that it was the angriest he had ever seen the former Celtic man.
It all kicked off when Kudus Oyenuga was sent off for a shocking reckless challenge on a Hibs player that saw Lennon confront the Morton striker. Duffy intervened and the two went head to head before Hibs' Darren McGregor was sent off in the aftermath of the incident. Both managers were also sent off.
Speaking to the press after the game, Lennon claimed that the Morton manager 'asked for a square go' and gave an impassioned explanation that if he feels he is in the right, he won't be backing down.
Incredible.
On a night with painfully little football, Hibs vs Morton comes through with the fireworks.
This is the challenge that spark the incident, an absolute shocker that could have done serious damage.
As infuriating as that must have been to see, Lennon's prediction that the headlines will be all about him are correct, as that was quite a moment for a man who has had a few in the past.
