With the improbable lurching into view once again at Leicester, the universe decided to balance out such absurdity with the banal: a Nasri red card. Samie Nasri has probed the depths of profound eejitry, and has been sent off for butting Jamie Vardy in the face. There was, in truth not a whole lot in it, and Vardy made the most of it: the kind of incident which the English press will describe as "streetwise".
Leicester led 2-0 at the time, and Nasri - who had stank the place out the whole night - was lucky not to be subbed off by Jorge Sampaoli. Once he had made his three subs, however, Nasri reacted to a goading by Vardy by thrusting his head towards him.
Referee got it spot on: he booked both players, and as Nasri had already been yellow-carded, he took an early bath.
Here's the incident:
Nasri Red Card
Not a great look that, for Nasri, who left his side with ten men for the last fifteen minutes.
What's that? You want to remind yourself of THAT Nasri story from last Christmas?
