With 20 goals for Celtic in all competitions this season, and having already attracted the attention of Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, it seemed inevitable that Moussa Dembele would pop up on Sky Sports' yellow ticker on the television event that is Transfer Deadline Day.

Earlier today it was reported that the Hoops star had flown to London, where talks regarding a possible switch to Chelsea had gone well.

A number of publications, including the Express and indeed Sky Sports, had suggested that Chelsea had 'enquired' about his availability yesterday, but were told they would have to pay upwards of £40m to accrue his services.

Dembele is now en route back to Glasgow where he will remain a Celtic player. The scan on his knee however - the sole reason he travelled to London at all - went well.

Perhaps somewhat sick of the speculation regarding his future over the past few days, the France under-21 international produced an emphatic statement of his intention to remain at Parkhead.

In fact, he referenced a particularly iconic/meme-worthy scene from The Wolf Of Wall Street, whereupon Leonardo Di Caprio's Jordan Belfort exclaims to his disheartened loyal subjects: "I'm not fucking leaving!"

Well, that settles it, then.

The tweet even got a whirl on Sky Sports News, where Dembele's future had been the source of heavy speculation and, let's be honest, bollocksology.

In terms of players impatiently shooting down transfer rumours, it's been a pretty successful day.
