Eagle-eyed viewers of yesterday's live game will have noticed that a number of Man United players including Wayne Rooney, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba gave their shirts to members of the travelling support at the Hawthorns.
It's quite a common thing to see from one player, particularly if they've promised it pre-match. But to see four or five stars do it isn't quite as common. So why did Rooney and co give them away? Was it Christmas spirit? Was it that they were simply too warm?
Not quite. It was Jose Mourinho.
I told them to do that. It's Christmas time. A shirt from a fan coming direct from the game with sweat means a lot. For them (the players) it's just one more shirt. It's a pity not every fan can get one but it is a great feeling.
Yum. Marcus Rashford's sweat.
In all seriousness, it's a lovely thing to do by Mourinho and the players. Better to end up in the hands of a fan than of a random member of staff, or another player.
You can watch the clip of Mourinho below. We're off to search MATCHWORN Man United shirt on eBay.
