He had represented every Man Utd fan all over the world with his celebration of Marouane Fellaini's late winner, Jose Mourinho was told by MUTV follow his side's 1-0 win against Young Boys on Tuesday night.
"I can imagine that some of them broke televisions," responded Mourinho.
The Portuguese had celebrated wildly - smashing a crate of water bottles on the ground - after Fellaini's goal, scored just as the clock ticked into injury time, provided some elation on what had been a frustrating night for the home side at Old Trafford.
Because I think everyone is frustrated when you see the team starting the way we did. Great intensity, great desire, great motivation; the players giving everything.
Mourinho said that his side's performance deserved more than the draw which had looked to be their fate.
"I think it's a big frustration that we believe a draw would be the final result.
"So, when we score, I had the reaction of an explosion and I believe that many people at home, they react in many different ways but for sure, we had an explosion of relief because we didn't play for a zero-zero, not at all.
"This result of zero-zero would be a fake result and too hard a punishment for the boys."
