Manchester United have always appeared to be slow to sign central midfielders since the days of Roy Keane. After Owen Hargreaves and Anderson were signed in 2008, it took six years for United to sign another central midfielder in Maroaune Fellaini. Now after Ander Herrera last year, it looks like they will make it three in a row.
French newspaper L'Equipe are reporting that Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has agreed a deal with the Old Trafford club, but a fee has yet to be agreed with Southampton.
The player has reached a contract agreement on a 4 year deal with Manchester United, but no fee agreement yet, the paper reports.

Arsenal and Tottenham were both believed to be pursuing the 25-year-old, which makes sense given that he's young, good and French (Arsenal), and used to play under Spurs' manager Mauricio Pochettino. ESPN are reporting that Schneiderlen was considering offers from two clubs, but every indication now is that he has agreed to join United.
Sky Sports News have even made this handy graphic comparing each of Manchester United's defensive midfielder options and Morgan Schneiderlin.
