In a season that saw Man City streak to the Premier League trophy in unprecedented fashion, Arsene Wenger bring to an end a 22-year run in the league, Sean Dyche take Burnley into Europe and Mo Salah defy all expectations in his debut season with Liverpool, the PFA awards were always going to be interesting.
The winner of PFA Player of the Year was indeed the Liverpool striker, Mohamed Salah. Signed from Roma for a reported an initial £36.9 million, the Egyptian went on to have an outstanding year and looks set to claim the golden boot as well this season. In third place was Harry Kane, with Kevin De Bruyne in second.
Salah has spoken about trying to redeem himself after an unhappy spell with Chelsea and has certainly done that with 31 goals and 9 assists already in the league.
The PFA Young player of the Year was Man City's Leroy Sané, fresh from a 5-0 victory over Swansea City today at the Etihad Stadium. He thanked his fellow players, coaches and management for their help. In second place was Harry Kane, while Raheem Sterling was third.
