Dublin Indoor Football have announced the opening of a brand new football dome in the Sportslink Complex in Santry.
The Soccer Dome houses five state-of-the-art pitches, including two 5-a-side , two 6-a-side pitches, and Ireland’s largest indoor football pitch, which can facilitate an adult 9 a-side match. The dome structure also means that 5-a-sides will never again be rained off.
Dublin Indoor Football director Patricia O'Connor welcomed the expansion, stating that the facilities should see a lot of use with the addition of sports as a Leaving Cert subject:
We are delighted to expand our facilities within the Soccer Dome to five indoor pitches and offer football players a new and unique alternative to outdoor play.
Our Soccer Dome provides an ideal venue to hold training and football playoffs all year round, regardless of Ireland’s unpredictable weather.
It is also a timely launch to coincide with the addition of Sports to the secondary school curriculum.
