It may not have been a tie we'd have expected at the outset of the Champions League season - but a Milan derby between AC and Inter in the last four is about as good as the competition gets.
The Rossoneri and Nerazzuri meet in the first leg at the San Siro on Wednesday night, and will return to the same venue (given their groundshare) next Tuesday to decide which club will represent the city in the Champions League final.
Neither team has been to the Champions League final since Inter's famous treble win in 2009-10, and it has been even longer since AC Milan were there - winning the 2007 final against Liverpool in Athens.

It is not the first time that Milan and Inter have faced off in the Champions League. They clashed in the 2003 semi-finals - with Inter infamously being knocked out by away goals in their home stadium - before the 2005 quarter-final had to be abandoned after flares were thrown on the pitch.
Fans will hope for a passionate atmosphere at the San Siro on Wednesday night, and both clubs will see this as a golden opportunity to claim European glory for the first time in years.
