Middlesbrough are back in the Premier League following a 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion. The result means that 'Boro finish second in the league, and are promoted automatically, although it does deprive us all of the quiz question regarding Richie de Laet, who has to be content with just a Premier League medal this season. Jack Charlton was in attendance, and was introduced to the crowd at half-time:

Naturally, there was an ecstatic pitch invasion, as 'Boro held on for a result that will be worth up to £170million.

Unfortunately, not all of the invasion was good-natured:
Poor scenes during the pitch invasion - saw punches being thrown at at least a couple of Brighton players

A couple of Brighton players slumped to the turf on the whistle, and were engulfed. Cue a couple of over-exuberant/angry confrontations.

Chris Hughton was as gentlemanly as always in the aftermath, but his grace in disappointment was not matched by a member of his coaching staff, Colin Calderwood:
'Boro's was not the only pitch invasion of the afternoon, as QPR fans also ran onto the pitch, to celebrate their, erm, 12th place finish in the Championship.
Congratulations on finishing 13th QPR! Great achievement and well worth a pitch invasion #seeyounextyear pic.twitter.com/hsczhkPOXI

This was an invasion that, remarkably, featured a man in a wheelchair:
Congratulations to 'Boro. Stewart downing is coming to a Premier League ground near you.
