Mick McCarthy has announced an extended 39-man squad for the November international against New Zealand and a crunch European qualifier against Denmark.
There's a first call-up for QPR's playmaker-cum-defender Ryan Manning, with the former Galway United player in stellar form for the West London side.
Elsewhere, Troy Parrott is included in the squad, with McCarthy earmarking the young Spurs man for a debut against New Zealand. On Parrott, McCarthy had said:
It could be the perfect opportunity to have a look at Troy Parrott for example and see how he makes the step-up to senior international football after impressing so many people at underage level with Ireland and Spurs.
Parrott is joined in the squad by fellow under-21 internationals Nathan Collins, Aaron Connolly, Caoimhin Kelleher and Michael Obafemi.
Also, Ciaran Clark returns to the international fold, with the centre-half returning to the Newcastle United starting XI under Steve Bruce. Robbie Brady has also returned to the fold, recovering from a pre-season injury to force his way back into Sean Dyche's plans at Burnley.
McCarthy also attempted to allay fears over the fitness of first-choice goalkeeper Darren Randolph. The Middlesbrough keeper has missed his side's past two matches in the Championship, but both Randolph and McCarthy are hopeful that he will be passed fit.
In case of Randolph's absence, Mark Travers, Kieran O'Hara, Kieren Westwood and Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher have all been drafted into the squad.
