If you judge him only by his uninspiring punditry and his total and utter disinterest in cinema, Michael Owen wouldn't seem like the most emotional guy in the planet. Owen described the day as the saddest in his life, and it's clear in this video he saw Brown Panther as much more than a four-legged money-making creature. There is a caricature in the media of Owen as something like an android, spouting punditry cliches as if they were autogenerated by Twitter search terms, but his relationship with Brown Panther, both in good times and bad, provided a different perspective on the striker. He loved that horse.
