There was reportedly quite a bit of competition for the services of Michael Olise this summer, with a number of big names clubs linked with a move for the Crystal Palace winger.

The Frenchman was in superb form last season, scoring ten goals and registering six assist despite missing half of the campaign due to injury. The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea were credited with an interesting in his services, although Bayern Munich would be the club to trigger his €60million release clause.

The Bavarian side had to wait quite a while for the arrival of Olise, with the player having gone all the way to the Olympic final with France this summer.

After finally made his way to Germany, he has now made a rather strange impression during his introductory press conference.

Michael Olise has garnered a reputation for giving some rather strange interviews in recent years, something that looks unlikely to change after his move to the Bundesliga.

The 22-year old was certainly not in the mood to give in-depth answers during his first press conference at Bayern Munich, including when it came to this question about adjusting to a new league.

Reporter: What do you expect from the Bundesliga, do you think it will be different in comparison to the Premier League and does it fit your own qualities?

Olise: I think it will probably be a bit different, but... yeah I don't know.

He also gave an equally in depth answer when asked if he saw himself as more of a goalscorer or creative player.

Of course, Bayern Munich fans will have little concern about the quality of Michael Olise's interviews as long as he produces the goods on the pitch.

Still, this might have been an opportunity missed to endear himself to supporters of his new club.
