Michael Obafemi has finally completed his long awaited move away from Swansea, after securing a loan deal with Championship leaders Burnley, with the option to make the move permanent in the summer.

Obafemi has made it clear over the past few months that he was eager to move away from the Welsh side, which has understandably strained his relationship with the club.

"I'm glad to be here," Obafemi said after his move was confirmed. "It's been a busy few days, but I am just glad that it's finally done now.

When I first heard of Burnley's interest in the summer I was adamant to come here, obviously it didn't happen then but now I'm here and I just can't wait to play in the Claret and Blue.

The Burnley social media team have made a name for themselves with their clever and entertaining signing reveals - including a popular Shrek themed one for the recent signing of Lyle Foster - with Obafemi given a Gavin and Stacey inspired video.

Despite Obafemi's want away attitude, Swansea manager Russell Martin has been adamant that his relationship with the player in a good one.

"I'm not dissatisfied with him as a person," said Martin earlier this month. "We maintain a brilliant relationship.

"We had a great chat on Tuesday, we've been honest with each other. There's an opportunity for him that he sees to get to the Premier League very quickly, so I understand it.

"It was there for him in the summer and it hasn't quite come off. He hasn't quite been able to shrug that off. Some people can overcome the disappointment really well and some can't.

"He's not had as many games as he would have liked, he's not had the impact we both would have liked, but there's no breakdown in our relationship.

"I absolutely love the kid. It's just difficult sometimes because of the situation. If we don't get an offer that is satisfactory, we'll have to reassess."
