Blackpool and Shamrock Rovers both announced on Monday that they have come to an agreement for Andy Lyons to join the English Championship side in January.
Delaying the move until the winter transfer window opens will allow the 22-year-old wing-back to finish the season with Rovers, that includes playing in the group stage of the Europa Conference League.

"Obviously it was going to be a difficult one to do if that wasn't the case (January instead of summer), sometimes you've got to put yourself in their shoes in these situations," Blackpool manager Michael Appleton told Lancs.live.
"He's a key player for them, has been throughout this campaign, they just fell short of the Champions League but now they've got the Europa Conference League."
Lyons only joined Rovers from Bohs in January, but became a real hit at Tallaght Stadium, scoring eight goals in 32 appearances.
He moves to Blackpool on a three-and-a-half year deal, which includes the option of a further year. Lancs.live report that the fee for Lyons is "understood to be in the region of £300k plus add-ons".
"We believe that he's going to be a real talent," Apppleton continued, "he's got the opportunity to kick on and the potential to do that."
