Liverpool kicked off the Arne Slot era in an impressive fashion yesterday, showing some real signs of potential during their 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
The away side produced a rather pedestrian performance in the first half, with the newly promoted club creating the better of the chances. However, it was a very different story after the interval.
After Slot made some ruthless changes at halftime, Liverpool would kick on in the second half. They played some wonderful football at times, with goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah securing the three points.

It was a scoreline that in no way flattered the visitors, who could have come away from the game with more than two goals on the day.

Richards Feels Arne Slot Arrival Has Helped To Unlock Liverpool Star
While there is still a long way to go for Arne Slot to prove he is the right man to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, their supporters will be encouraged with the performance of the team in yesterday's game.
Their players looked sharp, with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Diogo Jota all impressing in the fixture.
Dominik Szoboszlai, who struggled at times in the second half of last season, looked completely rejuvenated against Ipswich. He was previously used in an unfamiliar role under Klopp, who asked him to cover a huge amount of ground and often drift onto the right flank for large portions of the game.
He impressed in a more central area yesterday, being involved in most of the good buildup play produced by Liverpool.
Speaking on Sky Sports this afternoon, Micah Richards name checked the Hungarian as someone who he expects to have a big season under Arne Slot. He also summed up why he felt Liverpool could be title contenders over the coming months.
I watched Liverpool yesterday with Arne Slot and what he's doing there.
What I like about him is that he was so ruthless. Young [Jarrel] Quansah at halftime got taken off, he brings on another centre back and said they weren't aggressive enough in the first half.
In the second half they looked a lot better. I like the fact that [Diogo] Jota is playing up front, [Mohamed] Salah looks sharp as well. [Dominik] Szoboszlai looks like he's going to be creative this season.
He mentioned something in the interview in terms of risks. Under Klopp they did have a lot of risk, but there was a lot of reward and they played amazing football.
He just feels as though they took too many risks and if he can just get the timing right on that, they could be a force this season.
Getting the most out of Dominik Szoboszlai would be a huge boost to Liverpool, with the 23-year old clearly a massively talented player.
Arne Slot will be hoping that quite a few of his key players hit their peak performance levels this season. It would certainly make his job a whole lot easier if that were to be the case.
