Arsenal have finally learned the law of the Premier League land: you can distract fans from miseries on the field by throwing money away off the field.
Today, Arsenal fans have plenty of reasons to smile, as the club have snapped out of their years-long transfer paralysis to complete the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Dortmund, for a fee reported to be £55 millon, which could reach up to £60 million with add-ons.
But the good news hasn't stopped rolling from there: the BBC's David Ornstein has quite the scoop: Mesut Ozil has signed a new contract with the club.
It is a three-and-a-half-year deal, and it makes Ozil the highest-paid player in the club's history: he will pick up £350,000 per week. (Before tax).
Ozil's existing contract expires in the summer, and it had been anticipated that he would join Manchester United on a new contract.
